On 11 Nov 2025, Embassy of India and Gandantegchenling Monastery in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia jointly organised a ceremony at the monastery for distribution of 40 sets of Holy Mongolian Kanjur to different monasteries and organisations in Mongolia. Each kanjur set has 108 volumes. These sets were reprinted by National Manuscripts Mission under the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, Ministry of Culture. In his remarks Khambo Nomun Khan Most Ven Geshe Lharampa D Javzandorj, expressed his gratitude to Government of India for sending the 40 sets of Kanjur. Ambassador HE Mr Atul Malhari Gotsurve stated that the Kanjur is the most important religious text - Concise Order or the words of Lord Buddha. He also mentioned that the principle of panchsheel given by Lord Buddha are relevant even today. He quoted Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi that India and Mongolia are Spiritual Siblings. He also mentioned that in the current era of wars the teachings of peace of Lord Buddha are extremely relevant.
