On 20 Jan 2026, Embassy of India in Mongolia organised the "India-Mongolia Trade Promotion Workshop" in hybrid mode bringing together senior government officials, trade bodies, industry leaders, and business representatives from both India and Mongolia. The workshop aimed to deepen bilateral trade, commerce and investment cooperation, with a focus on key sectors including mining, pharmaceuticals, food processing, apparel, service industry, engineering and export–import facilitation. In his remarks, HE Mr Atul Malhari Gotsurve, Ambassador of India to Mongolia highlighted the immense trade potential between India and Mongolia. He mentioned that like India, Mongolia is also a land of opportunities for trade and business. He emphasized the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to promote 3Ts – Trade, Tourism and Technology. In his remarks, HE Mr D Ganbold, Ambassador of Mongolia to India highlighted the growing momentum in economic relations between the two countries and referred to various sectors like renewable energy, oil exploration, rare earth, mining for trade promotion. Presentations were made by major institutional stakeholders, including Ms Saruul Bulgan, Secretary General of Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), Mr. D Munkhbat, Interim CEO of Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE), Ms Geethanjali Nataraj, Principal – International Trade Policy of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mr Rollins John, Director of Pharmexcil, Mr Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General of Apparel Export Promotion Council of India, CEOs of MAX Exim of Mongolia, Tsakhiur Tumur LLC of Mongolia and Namaste Chain of Restaurant. These sessions provided deeper insights into sector-specific opportunities, business experiences, regulatory frameworks, and avenues for enhanced cooperation.
