On 13 Apr 2026, Ambassador HE Mr Atul Malhari Gotsurve met with B. Davaadalai, CEO of Erdenes Mongol Group at the Erdenes Mongol (EM) Headquarters and discussed various issues of mutual cooperation. During the meeting, Mr B Bayardavaa, Chief Project Officer, EM, Mr N Tserensambuu, Acting CEO of Erdenes Tavantolgoi, and senior officers from Mongol Refinery and EM were present. The State-owned Erdenes Mongol Group includes a total of 31 companies operating in the fields of exploration, extraction and enrichment of minerals such as gold, silver, copper, coal, and ore, and they are divided into the Fuel and Energy Group, Copper Metals Group, and Infrastructure and Logistics Group, working under a unified policy and strategy. The Erdenes Mongol consortium owns 22 percent of the country's total registered coal reserves, 38 percent of copper reserves, 22 percent of fluorite reserves, and 15 percent of iron reserves, and accounts for about 30 percent of export revenue.
