Respected members of the Diplomatic Community, Respected members of the Yoga Federation in Mongolia, respected Yoga Practitioners from Mongolia.
Namaste, San Bainu
I convey my best wishes on the International Day of Yoga to all yoga enthusiasts here. The atmosphere, energy and experience from yoga can be felt in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This is the 10th anniversary of International Yoga Day. A record 177 countries had endorsed India’s proposal in the UN for the Yoga Day in 2014.
Yoga’s utility is also being recognized by the people around the world. Yoga has become a part of daily life of many people in Ulaanbaatar. I am happy to inform you that during his address to the nation yesterday on the occasion of Yoga Day Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji mentioned that the Mongolian Yoga Foundation is running many yoga schools. Its a proud moment for all of us present here. Last month, The Yoga festival organized by the Mongolian Yoga Federation was a great success and I was happy to see the great enthusiasm of the people there.
The number of people practising yoga is growing worldwide while its attraction is constantly on the rise. So far, 15 million German citizens have become yoga practitioners. Yoga has become a topic of research today and multiple research papers have already been published.
Due to the growing popularity of Yoga we are having a new Yoga Economy. Yoga retreats, resorts, dedicated facilities for yoga at airports and hotels, yoga apparel and equipment, personal yoga trainers, and companies carrying out yoga and Mindfulness wellness initiatives are rising. All these are creating new avenues of employment for the youth.
This year’s Yoga Day Theme is -‘Yoga for Self and Society’. “Yoga helps us realize that our welfare is related to the welfare of the world around us. When we are peaceful within, we can also make a positive impact on the world.”
Yoga is also being used in prisons to spread positive thoughts among the inmates. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji mentions that “Yoga is scripting new pathways of positive change in the society”.
In our daily lives the domestic and professional stresses are rising. Yoga helps us to have a fine mental and physical balance.
I wish a great day of yoga celebration today with many yoga sessions by different Yoga Schools. I would also like to mention to you that each one of you is a brand Ambassador of Yoga in Mongolia. You can continue to inform about the benefits of Yoga to your friends, family and relatives. With these words I stop here wishing you and your family good health and prosperity.
Thank you very much.
