On 26 January 2026, Embassy of India hosted a reception to celebrate the 77th Republic Day of India at The Corporate Hotel and Convention Centre, #Ulaanbaatar. The Chief Guest at the event was HE Mr Damdinnyam Gongor, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Mongolia. HE Mr G Dashnyam, Deputy Minister of Culture, HE Mr N Enkhbayar, 3rd President of Mongolia, Hon'ble Mr D Tsogtbaatar, Member of Parliament and Hon'ble Mr A Bayar, Chairman Ulaanbaatar City Council were present at the event as special invitees. The event was attended by the Diplomatic Corp, Defence Attaches, senior Government functionaries, Indian Citizens and PIOs, businessmen and other distinguished guests from various walks of life. During the event, in his remarks, HE Mr G. Damdinnyam congratulated India on its Republic Day and mentioned that the strategic partnership between both countries is progressing well.
In his remarks, HE Mr Atul Malhari Gotsurve, Ambassador of India to Mongolia stated that the historic visit of H.E Mr Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, President of Mongolia in October 2025 to India has laid a new vision and roadmap for the strengthening India- Mongolia historical friendly relations.

On 20 Jan 2026, Embassy of India in Mongolia organised the "India-Mongolia Trade Promotion Workshop" in hybrid mode bringing together senior government officials, trade bodies, industry leaders, and business representatives from both India and Mongolia. The workshop aimed to deepen bilateral trade, commerce and investment cooperation, with a focus on key sectors including mining, pharmaceuticals, food processing, apparel, service industry, engineering and export–import facilitation. In his remarks, HE Mr Atul Malhari Gotsurve, Ambassador of India to Mongolia highlighted the immense trade potential between India and Mongolia. He mentioned that like India, Mongolia is also a land of opportunities for trade and business. He emphasized the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to promote 3Ts – Trade, Tourism and Technology. In his remarks, HE Mr D Ganbold, Ambassador of Mongolia to India highlighted the growing momentum in economic relations between the two countries and referred to various sectors like renewable energy, oil exploration, rare earth, mining for trade promotion.
Presentations were made by major institutional stakeholders, including Ms Saruul Bulgan, Secretary General of Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI), Mr. D Munkhbat, Interim CEO of Mongolian Stock Exchange (MSE), Ms Geethanjali Nataraj, Principal – International Trade Policy of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mr Rollins John, Director of Pharmexcil, Mr Mithileshwar Thakur, Secretary General of Apparel Export Promotion Council of India, CEOs of MAX Exim of Mongolia, Tsakhiur Tumur LLC of Mongolia and Namaste Chain of Restaurant. These sessions provided deeper insights into sector-specific opportunities, business experiences, regulatory frameworks, and avenues for enhanced cooperation.
